Colgados de Un Sueno

Every year around October, Instituto Cervantes Manila organizes Pelicula Pelikula, a Spanish Film Festival that shows Spanish language films in Greenbelt. I have religiously attended this film fest for something like 4 years now and make sure that I get to watch as much films as I can. Aside from being a fan of movies in general, I love watching foreign films because it's like I get to travel, through Pelicula I have seen Madrid, Barcelona, Mexico and Buenos Aires.

This year, time flew by so fast that I almost forgot about Pelicula, luckily I made a note on my organizer at the beginning of the year to check Cervantes' website for the schedules around this time.

Friday night I went to my first Pelicula which happened to be a documentary about the contributions of Fernando Zobel to Spanish art.The documentary was entitled "Colgados de un Sueno" which was taken from the Museum Mr Zobel established in the town of Cuenca in Spain. Fernando Zobel is part of the prominent families in Manila, very rich! Below is the trailer to the documentary.

The film selections this year I feel is not as strong as previous years, selections are also quite limited. The duration I think is shorter this year, last year it was something like 2 full weeks with 2 cinemas showing different films at the same time. Check out the schedules here:

Pelicula 2013 schedules from cervantes website

I've bought tickets in advance for 3 other nights that I'm free, I bought tickets for "La Ultima Pelicula", "Promocion Fantasma" and "Samurai". I'm excited to see La Ultima Pelicula because this one is by Raya Martin.

For more information on the films you may check out Instituto Cervantes' website.
